How to use lacrosse prospect days in recruiting
A lacrosse prospect day is a one-day event a college program runs on its own campus so its coaches can see players they might recruit. ID clinics are the same idea under another name. Multi-school clinics and showcases bring several college staffs to one event.
A prospect day is worth the most when the coach already knows who you are, or at a program where your level of play fits the roster. It works alongside club tournaments, which is where most evaluation happens, rather than replacing them. Email the coach before you go and again within a day or two after.

Prospect Days & Camps FAQ
What is a lacrosse prospect day?
A lacrosse prospect day is a short event, usually one day, that a college program runs on its own campus so its coaches can see high school players they might recruit. You pay to attend, play in drills and small-sided games run by that staff, and usually get a look at the school. Some programs call the same event an ID clinic or prospect clinic.
What is the difference between a prospect day, an ID clinic and a showcase?
A prospect day or ID clinic is usually run by one college program, with that program's coaches watching. A multi-school clinic brings several college staffs to one event, listed in advance. A showcase is run by an event company over two to four days, with many programs attending and hundreds of players. Summer camps lean toward skill development and younger players.
Are lacrosse prospect days worth it?
They are worth the most when a coach has invited you or already knows you, and at programs where your level of play fits the roster. A cold visit to a program well above your level usually means filling out the drills for the players the staff came to see. Prospect days add to club tournament exposure; they do not replace it.
Can college coaches talk to you at a prospect day?
In NCAA Division I lacrosse, coaches cannot hold recruiting conversations with a player at their own camp or clinic before September 1 of the player's junior year of high school (NCAA proposal M-2017-3). They can still coach and evaluate you. Division II coaches can begin communicating from June 15 after sophomore year, and Division III rules are less restrictive.
Do Division III schools hold lacrosse prospect days?
Yes. Many Division III programs run prospect days and ID clinics, and this directory lists them alongside Division I, Division II and NAIA events. Use the division filter to see only D3 events.
How do I register for a lacrosse prospect day?
Click Register on any listing to go to the event's official registration page. Most programs use platforms such as Ryzer or TotalCamps, or their own athletics or camp website. Registration usually asks for grad year, position, club and high school, plus the entry fee.
Recruit Plan aggregates lacrosse prospect days, clinics, and camps from registration platforms, event organizers, and college programs to help families discover recruiting opportunities. Visit the original source for the most current information.
